First build. I need suggestions/help?

So I've come up with a couple ideas for hardware. The thing is I'm on a tight budget ($700) and I can't exceed my
limit or I won't be able to get the computer I'm hoping to build. I've picked out several ideas for hardware, but I'm not
so sure if everything is compatible and good for the pricing. So I figured I'd ask everyone on here for some good input:

PSU: OCZ Fatal1ty 550w Modular
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955BE 3.2
RAM: Ripjaws (2x4GB DDR3 @1600)
GPU: XFX HD Radeon 6670 1GB 128bit
MOBO: ASRock 870 Extreme3 R2.0 AM3+
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 250GB
CASE: Rosewill Challenger Black Gaming
CD/DVD: Lite-On DVD Burner Bulk 24X DVD
MONITOR: Hanns_G HL227DBB 21.5" 5ms

Total Price (Including Shipping): $703.XX

So here are my questions:

1. Is everything compatible? I don't want to get everything shipped here and find out it's not going to run when I get it all done.

2. Is there anything I could do better, for cheaper? Possibly a cheaper motherboard? Or will that affect the overall performance?

3. If I were to go with this motherboard below, would it have any comparisons in performance to the motherboard listed above?:

GIGABYTE GA-M68MT-S2 AM3+

Would the motherboard above, make any of my hardware perform worse than the $90 dollar motherboard?

Thanks for any help. I know some of these questions are stupid:/

I don't think you are going to need a 550W PSU. According to PSUCalc, Your system totals up to around 400W, So you can lower the cost by getting a 500W or maybe a 450W. Do you plan on overclocking?

Also to answer your question 1: Yes, Everything is compatible.

2; See above about PSU

3; You couldn't have more than 1 graphics card.

EDIT: Found a Corsair 500W PSU for $59.99, Also if you use the $5 promo code it gives you "EMCJKHC28" So that would be $54.99, Then use the MIR and it then becomes $39.99.

1. Thanks.

2. I do not plan to overclock, I'm a casual gamer so I don't see myself upgrading anytime soon.
I'll look into a different PSU now that you've told me this. Do you have any PSU suggestions?

3. I'll go with the cheaper motherboard then, it seems to fit everything I need. I don't need two GPU's.

For question 2; Please see my edited post for a PSU.

Also, I found a graphics card better than that.

XFX HD-679X-ZRFC Radeon HD 6790 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16

It's $129 but after the Mail-In Rebate, It drops down to $109 which is what you would be paying for your card now. You also get DiRT 3 for free.

Far superior to the selected gpu in op!

Aw not planning on overclocking and your on a fairly tight budget? , you should do an i3 2100 build then...

I chose that card, my price dropped nearly $60 dollars thankfully.

So would this build be able to run games like COD4/MW2/Black Ops, or even Battlefield 3?
Yes. For the CoD games, You should be able to run everything on highest settings. My sigrig now is doing that and has no problems like stuttering or lag.

For battlefield 3, Yes you can run it but most likely on med-high settings. You would have to play around with the options to see what works. Make sure you download the 11.10 v3 drivers to play BF3 better.

Also a tip for BF3 settings, Turn off MSAA and the last setting, I forget what it's called. Turn both of those off and you will see better performance.

Alright.

I play Promod on COD4. Do you think I'd be able to achieve 250 FPS constant, for strafes/etc?
If you're wondering about 250 FPS it's due to the faults in the Quake 3 engine they didn't fix.

So will the 6790 be compatible with this Motherboard?

I'll probably buy from that site, now that you've pointed it out. Do they have good service like at Newegg?
