Help me decide model please

Hi there! I've been reading a tooon of theads but i still cant decide! so i better ask here.

I wanted to buy 2 x 6970, yes i know 6950 OC is the same but the price is not really very different and i would prefer 6970.

My main problem is, i've read and the Asus Radeon HD 6970 DirectCUII 2GB GDDR5 is probably the best manufacturer on this model for some reasons, but that monsters takes 3 slots.

I plained to buy an Asrock Extreme4 you can see the layout here:
http://content.hwigroup.net/images/p...7-extreme4.jpg

as you can see... CF'ing dual Asus card will make a sandwhich and probably that will hurt in temp matters.

Should i buy another manufacturer over asus? sapphire or msi is 2 slots, dunno about gigabyte, but those ones would left a slot free between them.

Another chance is buy Asus P8P67 WS Revolution B3 instead of Asrock, and i can mount 2 x Asus in CF having 1 slot between them.

Asus WS Res layout: http://imagenes.pccomponentes.com/as...ution_b3_2.jpg

So... basically what i want to know is what you would choose:

1. Asrock + Asus, lets make a sandwhich
2. Asrock + another manufacturer which comes with 2 slot card instead of 3 (which one?)
3. Asus MB + 2 x Asus
4. None of these

Thanks in advance! I really need help and comments on this heh

OH, PS: Probably the asus motherboard is better than asrock one, but that doesnt really matter to me, i ask this just for fitting the graph. cards, since the asus MB is +100 euro and im fine with the asrock. i would buy the asus over the asrock just because of graphic card distance, nothing else.

Try to find the MSI 6970 Lightning cards. They are just as good as the triple slot Asus cards and only take up two slots. They overclock like a boss too apparently.

The MSi lightnings are great apparently. If you could do that, and get a slot or two in-between them, and it looks like you can, I would recommend that.

Regarding the mobo, asrock is sort of an unknown, especially if you are going to be overclocking. Ask around in the mobo section about that board, I couldn't tell you.

The Sapphire HD-6970 card is nice and more budget friendly, but in this case it looks like budget isn't your concern you want the ultimate in performance, and in that case I'd tend to agree with the MSI R6970 Lightning card ... it's an ANIMAL

Don't know much about the Gigabyte 6970 either, but it doesn't look that bad actually and might be something to consider.
TWO slot and has a THREE FAN Cooler w/ heat pipes ...

... it might be just what you're looking for ?

Check out this link ... they review the Asus, MSI and Gigabyte cards for you ... http://www.futuremark.com/news/59224..._gigabyte_msi/

funny thing, on the asus review the msi wins in all tests hah. well, the msi looks great tbh, but i had problems years ago with a nvidia 5700 from msi, it broke so fast and the support was ****, but that was years ago and things could probably changed.
