Looking for online review/benching for WC ATI6970

Hey Allz..

I have been Googl'ing around and haven't been able to locate an online review/benching for Water Blocks for ATI HD6970 (Reference design).

I have just completed my first CPU Loop and have just started playing BF3 last night. I was stunned at how much the 6970 ramped up in temp and fan speed! I want to migrate to a loop setup for the 6970, but what are the Real-World benefits to be had?

Obviously the loop would be a lot quieter, but are there any stats out there as to the temp drops (and not on a manufacturer's website)?

alternatively.. i am left with the proposition of adding another 6970 to make Crossfire.. i know for sure there would be a 80-100% increase in throughput and i was thinking of UNDER-clocking the two cards by 20% to reduce the heat output whilst spreading the workload across the two 6970 cards..

thoughts? thanks for any good thoughts..

Load temps with a 360 rad i would expect to be <55c, with pretty much any decent full cover block.

And personally I would just watercool your 6970 now. It all depends on your radiator size. If you go crossfire, you likely will not have enough capacity to handle cpu plus both 6970's once you decide to watercool them.

Okay..

I have a 240 loop with a Koolance RP-452x2 reservoir and a D5 variable pump for the CPU.. I'd probably add a 360 or 480 on the rear-outside of my Corsair 600T, using the Koolance Quick-Release BKT-HX001, and also an extra D5 pump in the split reservoir..

But with all these extra water components.. I'm left wondering if Crossfire HD6970 under-clocked would be cool enough and quite a lot cheaper..?!

Running a 965 @4.4 and a 1ghz 6970 on a rx 360, I was at 54c max CPU and 46C gpu. Now with 2 360s, I'm now 50c CPU and 42c 6970. Second rad is passive.

Mine never go above 50c. The noise was my #1 reason, besides awesomeness, to go h20.

In fact, I could not use my unlocked cards without a custom fan profile and even more noise than stock.

So with some future proofing in mind..

I'll get a second loop underway for the 6970, and want to leave room for another 6970 to be added later.. so would a 360 be enough? Would like to stick with Hardware Labs - Black Ice not sure GT Stealth 360/GT Stealth 360 XFlow/GT Xtreme 360/SR1 360.. focus would continue to be as quiet as reasonably possible, especially as the 360 would be externally mounted on the rear of the 600T case..

Oh and I expect to migrate to a Silverstone TJ07 or TJ11 sometime in the next 12months..
