[CVG]Modern Warfare 3 stolen, pirated - Page 14

I wish Activison showed up my door. I'd tell them how trash their company is and how they're a disgrace to PC gaming. Then I say I wanted the game for free, because the game isn't even worth $10. I seriously hope something amazing happens to Activision and they go bankrupt. Could be the best thing to happen in gaming.

I personally can only get a 3mb DSL connection in my area and if i had to wait days for a game to download it would turn me away from a lot of games.

Everyone seems so surprised still. Does anyone not remember what happened with MW2 and BlackOps weeks before release? All around the same time and now MW3 follows their tracks.

Just because you can't realize the need for disc copies does not mean they are useless.
If retail versions of games went away, developers would lose millions of sales which would mean not as much profit as they could have.

Flash was mentioned, that would be a great idea for games to start using. You could put a flash drive in a case still too.
Damn sheep... So you do not want progress? Flash cannot be labeled and is more expensive than Optical media though. A $2 - $3 50GB BD costs less than an ~$80 64GB flash drive. And a $0.50 DVD is cheaper than an 8, 16 and 32GB flash drives. And the part where flash drives cannot be labeled and are not as secure as Optical Media. Which makes piracy easier.

In nutshell we need to progress beyond current optical media.
Optical media is like the Sony Dualshock controller. Best left untouched with minor improvements, but the basic design is still there. The thing is, Optical media is still more reliable and more used than D.D. (And it also makes it harder for Piracy which D.D. makes it easier to do.) And what you cannot seem to get is that taking something away is NOT progress, it is the opposite of progress. And taking away a physical disc could cripple a company. Especially if that game is a large 15+GB file.

Guys, installing from a disc will be around until companies stop producing nice artwork and bits to put in the case, and internet is available at fibre-optics speeds at a good price to everyone.

I for one, use steam a lot because of the price. But some games I KNOW I will play over and over, I will like to own on CD/geekmuch

There's simply no need for backup media like CD/DVD's anymore, all development can be stored on the companies local fileservers. Then such things as stealing software is far more unlikely to happen.
Finally someone else agrees with me. Expect all the console fanboys to be "but i likeZZZ to colleECT the disKSSS"! Hopefully it does happen and bankrupts gamestop one day.

1st- No you wouldn't do anything sorry the wannabe tough guy act will only work on the internet

2nd- To wish a company will go down because you dislike it is the dumbest thing you can do. Besides if they go bankrupt you will still get the crappy COD imposters like BF3. Activision is driving the competition.

Oh really?

I spent about 12 hours downloading S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow Over Chernobyl (5.5 GB's) on steam yesterday, and that was actually the smallest of the games I just purchased. If it weren't for my college having good high speed I get to use on weekdays it wouldn't be viable for me to acquire games this way. And I prefer having physical media anyway, that way I don't have to rely on less than spectacular internet speeds when I want to install a game. Also, I prefer to rip my own music rather than depending on some service to provide me with so-so quality media files.
