Case selection halp?

Thread Starter
I've been scrounging all over teh interwebs, but haven't found any cases that fully satisfied my needs without extensive (for me) DIY modding

I'm looking for a case that's good for watercooling + cable management + FULL panel side window + looks good. By look good I mean CM Enforcer or Phantom NZXT...but of course suggest anything u want

The Enforcer was almost my choice, but the window is not full panel. Do they have full panel window as an accessory? Budget is no more than $200. Any haaaalp?

Some build quickies:

mobo: asrock extreme3 gen3
cpu: i5-2500k
gpu: msi twin frozr II 560Ti 2gb
psu: corsair HX650
hdd: crucial m4 128G + 1TB WD Black/Hitachi
ram: avexir 8GB 9-9-9-24 DDR3-1600MHz

Just get whatever you want, and buy (or if its not available, make or have someone else make you a side panel).

Thanks!

After watching some youtube vidz, it seems like the Enforcer's window seems sufficient to show off all the core comp. parts

Now my other questions are is this case good for liquid cooling? I heard it's not...is it better to get a full-tower case for liquid cooling?

What are some good full-tower cases that fit my criteria? And any reasons to get full-tower vs. mid-tower?

what kind of liquid cooling loop are you planning? You can cram a small loop into a matx case if you arent looking for extreme performance + silence.

For watercooling, I'm looking for more aesthetics than performance...as odd as that might sound.

I just want to implement watercooling for learning purposes so the performance doesn't need to be extreme, BUT I really want the tubing to color-lighted/transparent so it looks really slick through the side window...I saw the Corsair H80 uses black solid tubing...are these easily replaceable?

I'm leaning towards Enforcer and 600T now altho the price difference is HUGE...I really like everything about the Enforcer except for the fact that watercooling is tricky on it. If I can get those cool glow-in-the-dark watercooling setup in the Enforcer and it doesn't look like a blob of mess covering everything else in through the window, that would be PERFECT. But the 600T I think has the size advantage for better viewing thru the window?

Which one would u guys choose and reasons? Thank you!

I just think the 600T is a nicer case overall. I'm not a huge fan of the Enforcer but that's just me.

As for the h80, i wouldn't bother modding one of those kits. It wont look too good, wont perform well, is somewhat tricky to do right, and it just ends up voiding the warranty on it and making it likely to leak.

At any rate, since you're looking for liquid just for the sake of looks and learning and being able to feel good about having a liquid cooled rig and all, I suggest you spend some time planning out a loop layout for each case and decide based on which one you find more desirable.

Gotcha, took your advice and am already posting in the cooling discussions to layout my ambitious cooling plans (I may go beyond watercooling so I wanna pick a case now that can fit all that in)

thx for the haaalp!

this. 600t can house a 240 rad and have a quite big window. AFAIK, there's not a case with a full side window. Anyway, here is a good window mod for the 600t (white)
