Question about AMD drivers.

Thread Starter
I'm running crossfire 6970s and my catalyst version is 11.9.

My main problem is Witcher 2. My FPS seems underperforming for the amount of GPU power I have, and I found this hotfix here:

http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles...15ahotfix.aspx

Now the question I got is this hotfix included with the 11.9 update? Or do I need to install the hotfix on top of the 11.9 update?

I get 30 FPS on ultra everything with uber sampling, and about 45-50 without uber sampling. Anyway, I'm very disappointed. Especially when I hear people saying they get the full 60 FPS with crossfire 6950s, or maybe they are full of ****?

****Edit I dunno *** is going on here but when I updated drivers from 11.8 to 11.9 suddenly my crossfire doesn't work anymore and the window to enable it isn't even there? I'm so confused here.... I don't even know how to go about uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling. I thought when you install new drivers it automatically uninstalls the old ones before installing the new ones? Any reason why it wouldn't work like that? Make too much sense perhaps?

its probally your cpu. without knowing what ur cpu is, i am going to assume the issue is the cpu. (cpu is creating a bottleneck)

look at it this way, if u have a pump pumping water through a hose, and you decide your going to add a second hose to that pump, the pump is still pumping the same amount of water, so each hose is only half the pressure now. to have both hoses at full pressure, your gunna need a bigger pump.

or another example, you have one 12watt power supply, you have 2 6 watt speakers, both speakers will peak fine on that system, but then u add 2 more 6 watt speakers, they are only going to get 3 watts per speaker, thus more isnt always better

Can you post your system hardware please.

Also, If you are going to uninstall the drivers, Use driver sweep then restart and then reinstall the drivers you wish to use. I would install the the 11.09 and then the hotfix after.
