6950 vs 6970. Help! - Page 2

If you wish to have higher than 45 FPS in almost all games running 1080p, I would think the 2GB card I said above from the website you sent me to is a good choice. It's $53 extra compared to the 1GB card but would be well worth it if you wish to play with 1080p - 45FPS +

If you are willing to spend the extra $74ish, Then go ahead. But personally, I don't think there would be a MAJOR difference going from the 2GB 6950 to the 2GB 6970. Although, I could be wrong.

I like 1900 x 1080... >45 fps on high settings.
If you want the fastest of the 2, then yes, it would be worth it. As for performance, the 6970 is faster.

It all comes down to if you want to spend that extra money. They are both great cards so either one would be a good choice.

6970 is about 20% faster than a 6950. i have an MSI 6950 unlocked and clocked to 6970 specs. I spent 275american on the card, but it came with the amazing Twin Frozr III cooler.

I just don't like getting low FPS. I might end up going with the 6970 then. Thanks

Just tried to purchase a sapphire toxic (ends up being close to $100 cheaper than in Australia haha). Unfortunately they won't ship to my home in Canberra or Brisbane. You got super lucky for regional NSW by the looks of it :-(

Sigh ... don't people use the SEARCH feature EVER ?

http://www.overclock.net/amd-ati/114...l#post15398858

There's FOUR links at the bottom with AUS sites ... if the TOXIC is out of the Budget try the DIRT3 edition.

You're wasting your money getting a 1GB card at this point in time ... SO NOT WORTH IT, especially if you want to play NEW high end games, like BF3, et all.

That thread is all about 6950 cards as I looked at the links. He wants to know which out of the two he should get. Not what 6950 card to get.
