It has links to the Austrialian sites so that the rest of us can offer him sound advice about which card for the money ... that crap pdf page you have NO CLUE WHAT CARD IS WHAT, they give you the BRAND of card but no MODEL # ... obviously if he wants PERFORMANCE he will have to PAY for it and won't be getting the cheap ass 1GB 6950 ... IF Budget is his concern then he won't be spending to get a true HD6970 ... kinda simple really ... but when all we do is give him options based on OUR prices here in the US ... we're not really helping him, that's why I gave him 4 AUS sites to better compare the price differences between his choices.

There's FOUR links at the bottom with AUS sites ... if the TOXIC is out of the Budget try the DIRT3 edition.

You're wasting your money getting a 1GB card at this point in time ... SO NOT WORTH IT, especially if you want to play NEW high end games, like BF3, et all.
This is a very insightful post. I have used it and now just have to read the reviews for the 2GB cards. Funnily enough the Toxics are more expensive than the 6970s I can find elsewhere lol.

Wasn't so much budget that is the concern..just don't like wasting resources and hence the post. Wanted to know whether to get 6950 or 6970 for playing BF3 really mattered...Obviously I can crossfire in a years time but I will only be playing BF3 for the next year so that is all that matters

I have a 6950 1gb that a friend now uses, and i have his 2gb 6950 that is unlocked. Generally there isnt any difference, in fact my card clocks far higher and performs better. For 1 screen you can get away with the 1gb, but really i wouldnt advise it. Especially if you want it for bf3, it eats up memory for video like theres no tomorrow.

I understand this is an issue in some countries around the world, OCN members in Austrilia and Europe have both reported this which is why it can be difficult for those of us in the USA to give you guys advice, the dynamics of WHAT you can get and what you have to PAY for it are often very different. Obviously I wouldn't suggest the TOXIC edition over a true 2GB HD-6970 ... likewise in terms of performance no one should be suggesting a 1GB 6950 to you over a 2GB version.

If the cost difference isn't substantial obviously a HD-6970 card will be a great purchase that should perform well on BF3 and hold you for at least a couple years. IF you can find one of the DUAL BIOS HD-6950's I have listed in so many threads (Sapphire Toxic, MSI PE/OC TF3, Sapphire DIRT3, PowerColor PCS++ editions, HIS IceQ Turbo X #H695QNX2G2M) for a lot less then you should strongly consider one of them as there's a decent chance of getting 6970 level performance from them. A 2GB GTX-560ti would also make a decent card, you might want to look at the prices for those around you, (eVGA / MSI / PALiT / and PointOfView make 2gb versions)

For what you're looking to do, those are the options I'd really suggest, a 2GB HD6950 w/ DUAL BIOS, a HD6970 or a 2GB GTX-560ti, find the cheapest of those near you and get that. Much less you won't get the performance you want, much more is waste of money.

Good Luck
