Are Rosewill power supplies REALLY that terrible? - Page 2

Thread Starter

Actually, I sped read through it, and because of it I think I might get the 750W HIVE. It's got the extra PCI-E for an SLI set up, is modular, and only $10 more. That and the lack of animosity I've seen towards them makes me feel ok about Rosewill... and these forums.

I think I might stick around awhile, thanks guys. Off to the store.

check out the newegg reviews. Rosewill psus are alright but don't push it above 60% of its wattage (for the cheap ones). Agree with HIVE and green series are pretty good.

Freezing after medium idle (errands) would post after hard reset.

DrDebug always registered 00, fans would kick on, but nothing to the monitor.

Finally, when it froze up during use I decided to just RMA both the motherboard and the PSU. I'm actually about to take the PSU to a local shop to throw it on a tester, just for my own peace of mind.

Thank you Redwoodz for the link, I'll read it when I have a chance to sit down after work.

Doesn't sound like PSU is faulty. Regardless, let us know after the RMA.

Never heard of Andyson before at all. I've seen some nice good cheap Corsair PSU's that fit well into a budget.

The reason Newegg handles Rosewill's RMA process is because Rosewill is Newegg's "house" brand. They have some decent stuff really. I've bought a bunch of cables, fans, couple of cases, card readers, etc. with the Rosewill label and they've all worked as well as I expected. They're usually a little cheaper than the other brands too.
