I have already started the refund RMA, it's been approved, just waiting for Monday to ship it out.
The TR2 650 is $59.99 after rebate, so it's cheaper than the HIVE
So why is the HIVE better?

I didn't see the AR price. Go ahead then. I don't like waiting for rebates, but that's just a preference. If you are looking for cheapest net cost, then the TR2 will serve you fine.

When Rosewill's PSUs go on special they usually have nice discounts discounts and the 650 the OP could easily go from the 80 it is in the link to 60 bucks without a rebate then maybe under 50 with a rebate. I do think FLCL is basing his opinion on old information and previous info, aslo some of his post could be seen as attacks by some.

80 plus 4/5 eggs http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...US%20Certified

80 Bronze 4/5-5/5 excluding the terrible 700w http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ZE%20Certified

80 Gold 4/5-5/5 eggs http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...LD%20Certified

Now that doesn't mean all Rosewills are good but they are buying from a better OEM, clearly, and they are selling better units. IF anyone can't see that rosewill is improving he/she is clearly delusional and should leave this thread.

why not get a CX 500? my brother has a gtx 570 and the unit is fine with it. it'll be $55 up front.

the tr 2 650 is an over rated unit from hec which are hardly considered beyond making nice fireworks, they are known to use sub par components and thermaltake are happy to buy their bargain basement trash and are willing to pass it off as half decent under their name

editr get the antec neo eco 520 which is the current best for its price

I've had nothing but solid reliability from the 6 rosewill units I have used in various systems over the past 5 years. The blind hate in this thread towards rosewill is just silly. The HIVE is a great PSU for the price, you wont be disappointed.

Well I intend to get another 460 and SLI, as well as add a SSD boot drive to the 1tb/500G satas I'm currently running. I didn't think a 500w would be enough power

Oh, and add another 8gb of RAM when the Sniper goes back on sale

Idk if it would be better, the rosewill actually has better amps and is 80% bronze but only has 2 PCI-e's and a 3 year compared to the 4 PCI-e's and 5 year of the TR2. IF I had to choose between those two I would go TR2 but wouldn't be happy about it.

A quality PSU could handle that no problem the 520 Neo Obsidian linked to is a good buy, but a better buy when it goes on special for $40

Well, I was actually thinking about paying the extra $10 and stepping up to the 750W HIVE.

@FLCL That's a nice unit, I wish it was modular though. Would 620W be enough?
