Gigabyte 560 TI SOC computer poweroff

Thread Starter
I built a new rig recently:

Processor: Intel core i5-2500k 3.3 GHz
Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V (not PRO)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws 2x4GB 1600 CL9
GPU: Gigabyte 560 TI SOC
PSU: Tooq 700W (Corsair TX850 V2 850W broke up and it's under RMA)

I'm running the motherboard default settings. It overclocks the processor to 3.7 GHz automatically (didn't crash so far, so I'm happy with that), but when I started playing games, the computer rebooted after 10 minutes, surprisingly, temps were fine.

I read the card was unstable so I downclocked it with MSI Afterburner to the GTX 560 Ti default settings. Now, it crashes randomly (it can be 20 minutes or 1 hour, but it always crashes) and the computer reboots itself. It's not a BSoD or a driver failure, since I have autoreboot disabled. I have tried furmark and if I don't use antialiasing, the computer crashes 2 seconds after starting the burn test.

I thought it could be a power supply problem, but 700W for a single card that doesn't even run at high speed temperatures seems enough. I have built another 2 similar rigs using an ENGTX 560 TI TOP and they are fine. Is there anything I can do to get it stable? I don't want to give this card back

Unfortunately it doesn't seem like you have many other options other than RMA. Sounds broked to me. Have you tried different graphic drivers?

I've only tried nvidia drivers. I even updated to the latest version. It didn't solve the problem

I really can't believe I had such a bad luck, first a faulty PSU and now the GPU...

Sounds like Derickwm is right on. You shouldn't have to downclock to 820Mhz to get stable, and if you do, should be able to run anything without issue.

*snip*
By other drivers, I meant older ones. All have to be nVidia. Try some older drivers and see what you get.

I meant nvidia propietary drivers, well, it'd make no sense trying the open source ones. I have tried the ones that came with the Gigabyte CD (can't remember the version) and the latest ones. Should I get older drivers?

Hmm. No. If the ones that came with the video card and the latest both give you problems, then unfortunately I would declare your GPU faulty. Sorry bud

Sorry about the bad luck, brother. You will be very happy once you get a good card in there. 560 is an awsome little powerhouse. Hope the rma goes smooth.
