Help! HD corrupt?

Thread Starter
So i have just finished puting together my new system (specs in sig), however I currently being forced to use a Hitachi HD from my old computer since my WD in on back order.

My issue, is after I have installed windows7 64, on one of the restarts, during or after the install, my computer will boot, go through the POST tests, but then stalls just before loading windows at the "loading operating system" screen. My computer them reboots, cycling indeffinitely. I have tried reinstalling windows many times with the same result.

try turn of vdroop & set cpu voltage up a notch. also set the optical drive as primary boot device & hdd to ahci. also try single sticks of ram. another thing that it might be is the 6950. remove it from the slot & reset the cmos or remove the battery from mb. then reinsert the graphic card

why set the optical drive as primary? i can boot from the windows disk and install windows on to the HD fine, but for some reason, during one of the restarts either during or after the install, my computer just wont load windows. after that every start up results in it looping at the "loading operating system" screen

Have you tried running a repair on the hard drive in question? As placing the os disk in and booting and choosing "R" for repair. That way if it finds something wrong it will let you know and fix the issue most likely.

Have you changed any BIOS options lately? I know that some options could leave it in a hanging or in a loop.

What you are describing is what happens with an unstable OC, or incorrect memory timings, on a good installation of windows.

you are at stock while installing the OS... aren't you?

EDIT: I just noticed that you have Ripjaw X memory... Many threads with this memory, and sandy bridge. Make sure your memory timings and voltage are correct for 1600mhz, or install the OS @ 1333Mhz, and then put the memory where you want it in the UEFI.

I was going to say it an overclock settings issue, But he didn't show his Freq. in his sigrig. So I just set BIOS settings to generalize it
