Prime95 and Memtest86+ errors

Thread Starter
hi all.

I've recently been trying to get a stable 4.5 oc for my 2500k.

I'm running into this issue:

I'll get a rounding error around 3 hours into a blend test and on memtest ill get a "test interrupted - halting" around 20% in.

I have xmp settings enabled in bios but when i launch into memtest with the oc active my ram appears around ddr3-1023.. or somewhere near that number and its in the 500mhz area. But when i reset my system to default (no oc), memtest runs fine and the ram is recognized at the setting it should be. So im pretty sure its due to the oc and not the memory which is why im posting this here.

Now im not sure at all.. just throwing this out there but does this mean my ram needs more voltage for the oc?

Heres my oc settings: (Asrock Extreme 7 gen3)
Ram: XMP default settings
Spread Spectrum: Disabled
Turbo power limit short : 230
turbo power limit long : 230
cpu core current : 200
LLC: level 4 (out of 5)
Vcore : Offset (+ .002)
c3 and c6: Disabled
PLL : Auto at 1.83
VTT: Auto

Id give screenshots but im running memtest through a few more passed right now.

Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks

Fill out full specs in User CP -> edit system.

Disable XMP and manually set RAM frequency/voltage/timings. What version of memtest86+ are you using? Make sure you are on the newest v4.20. Can you pass memtest86+ with the system at stock, besides the memory at the proper settings?

yeah im running memtest v4.2

It'll pass memtest fine with XMP enabled at 9-9-9-24-1N when the system is not oc.

I havnt tried running memtest with memory on auto which is 11-11-11-28-1N yet tho.

I'll have to try entering the timings manually but isnt the xmp option on the ram basically its default settings?

set ram manually to 9-9-9-24-2N and when entering memtest with the overclock enabled my ram reads DDR3-1173 586mhz BCLK: 73

shouldnt it be DDR3-1600 800mhz and BCLK: 100? like it is when i have no overclock

Memtest86+ just isn't reading it correctly, nothing to worry about. Try increasing VTT to around 1.15v.
