Would love your feedback on this build

Hello OC'ers, as with others, this is my first post here. However, I come here often for valuable information. There's a TON here and it's been super helpful. Thank you.

So based on what I've read, I am ready to build my system. I have a decent budget for this, but before I order I was hoping someone could look over the components I've chosen and see if I am on the right track.

My intended purpose for this machine is to overclock it (CPU) as far as possible without buying a custom water cooling system.

This will be my main workstation and I will be primarily doing a ton of 3D animation and rendering (3D Studio Max, Vray, Maya ect..) with it. My priorities are to get the fastest rendering times I can (thus the i7-990x) and squeeze out the highest viewport performance possible (thus the GTX-580 primarily for it's clock speed and CUDA tech).

This is the build I've chosen:

ASUS Rampage III Extreme LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Intel Core i7-990X Extreme Edition Gulftown 3.46GHz LGA 1366 130W Six-Core Desktop Processor BX80613I7990X

CORSAIR H100 (CWCH100) Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Corsair Obsidian Series 800D CC800DW Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case

GIGABYTE Super Overclock Series GV-N580SO-15I GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP

CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX1200 (CMPSU-1200AX) 1200W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 SLI Certified 80 PLUS GOLD

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-17000CL11Q-16GBXL

OCZ Vertex 3 Series – MAX IOPS Edition VTX3MI-25SAT3-120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit - OEM

Two disclaimers... I don't want to run multiple video cards since CUDA is not cumulative. An I need nVidia because of the CUDA.

A couple specific questions... To get into the mid 4ghz and as close to 5.0ghz as possible should I be air or water cooling? And will the watercooler I've chosen get me there? If not what's the best air cooler for this? Is the PSU overkill for this system since I do not plan to run multiple GPU's?

Any room for improvement? Anything that you might change?

Thanks for your help everyone!

I would love to wait, unfortunately I need the machine now for a slew of freelance work coming up.

Any idea when the Sandy Bridge E chipsets will be out?

But... if I have to build it now, am I on the right track?

Thanks again for the help.
