PhII 965BE+Venomous-X High temps?

Thread Starter
Hey, recently I purchased a Venomous-X along with Prolimatech PK1 paste, to try and lower my temps enough to reach 4Ghz.
Having read all the reviews on the net and here, as well as SkineeLabs comments on the PK1 paste, I expected more.

All test were made outside the case, with the MB horizontal. Temps are taken after the 20th IBT run.
Ambient: 22º
CPU Phenom II 965BE C3
3900Mhz
1,45Vcore
2800Mhz NB
1,25VNB

Venomous-X with GT AP15 in P/P

Prolimatech PK1: 52º 1st day/50º after 48h
Shin Etzu X23-7783D: 51º 1st day/49º after 48h

I reseated the HSF multiple times and these are the best temps that I got. The pastes seem to have spread well (pea in the IHS method). The Venomous does not ever get warm to the touch (fins, heatpipes or base).
After this I took out the cpu and verified the IHS surface with a ruler. The IHS is completely concave, with the center clearly "sunk". The HSF has a slight convex channel in the middle.
Are these temps normal? Could the concave IHS be the reason for the poor temps? Would lapping only the HSF fix it? Any other ideas?
I've been thinking of trying some Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra and if that doesn't solve it lapping both CPU and Venomous.
Thanks!

that is the best you can expect from air cooling, if you want better temps in that situation then lower your ambient or go watercooling (real watercooling, not the presealed stuff)
