Aiming in PC video games

Hey all. So i have heard that some really pro FPS players do special exercises and stuff to improve their aim. Like, not just working out for reaction, but actual exercises for your arms and wrists that make your aim more stable. When i move my mouse it almost always kinda "lags" or stutters instead of moving smoothly, while this is not a problem for most experienced players. I know that practice makes perfect, but in the last 2 years of me playing FPSs my aim hasn't impoved at all. So any good exercises and other tips you know of? thx

1. Just keep it consistent. In whatever you do, or however you aim do that same thing over again. You get to a point when you don't think about aiming for the head, you just do.

2. I actually imagine you've gotten a lot better than you think you have. I used to play on a competitive team on TF2, and after that was over I went back to just playing public servers a bit. Without trying I basically dominated everyone all the time, even though I didn't think I was up to par.

3. I don't actually know any exercises. The only thing I know about getting better is that it's not only physical practice that helps, but mental/emotional practice. Visualizing what you're going to do and making that a reality helps immensely. Combining both the physical and mental work-outs should help even more than that.

Thanks, that helped. I have to say, your mindset really helps, as sometimes i can totally suck, while other times i kick ass.

I agree. The more you play the more you condition yourself mentally. I've also gotten to the point where I kind of don't care what others say, and find it almost comical when people get upset at a video game.

For some odd reason I do better in black ops when on the phones i carryed a 20-1 k/d and as soon as i got off of the phone i got a 6-10 k/d

It's prolly cuz you're not thinking about it and just doing. It always seems as though I really start pwnin fools as I'm about to leave and go somewhere and I'm trying to hurry up and get it done. Weird

I triple my K/D in COD4/Killzone 2/MAG(when I played atleast) and a few others when my girlfriend is over.

Probably because I subconsciously know I have to perform that much better as she makes me give her the controller in-between deaths.

There are some memories to train muscle memory. Like trying to stop on exact points with the reticule. And your mindset too of course. You need to focus and anticipate enemy movement to react faster. If you're playing casually you will probably take more time to get react if an enemy suddenly pops up, as opposed to expecting one to show up at any moment.
