Say you text to seven people per day, that's only a little under eight messages per day per person.
50 a day, 7 days a week for 4 years and you need to save every one of them?

Anyways the situation is simple. Get them off your phone and put them wherever or print them out.

Problem solved.

I think, since, me and my ex started dating in 09, till we broke up 2 months ago, We probably accumulated over 100,000 text messages. Then all of that mattered to me, I wanted to keep it all. But the phones I had at the time couldn't. I'd be pretty upset too.

obviously you never felt really strongly about someone... its no different than home movies or love letters, in fact they are love letters

Fifty texts a day was just a example. I text well over 100 a day as do many others. Yes I do like to keep them especially those who I care about.

Apparently you do not feel the need to keep them, which is fine, but for those who do I don't see why we shouldn't have that option?

Is it less strong if you print them out, or keep them as a text file?

I don't believe you average well over 100 txts a day for a year. I think youre making it up.
I usually average 1000 a month and compared to some of my friends I don't text that much. For some people it would be easy to go over 100 a day.

Not a thread crap or an attack on anybody, but I find this thread very interesting. I could not imagine sending that many texts ever. Is it really that much easier than just calling someone?
I generally stay up to date on technology, but have never had an interest in cell phones. I have a $10 pre-pay phone and a $20 phone card will last me 3 months, I don't think I could justify a fancy phone and the monthly bill that goes with it. Does it really like, replace your computer or something?

100 txts a day is nothing when you have a gf. Trust.

Truth.

When I was in high school I had roughly 3,000 texts a month. That includes in and out. So roughly 2 years? I guess I wouldn't keep texts for that long. I like to have bare minimum.
