Errr why does this processor sell for $300?! - Page 3

Newegg is probably still sitting on stock from 2009, or so, I doubt they are actively getting shipments of these chips from Intel still. I believe the price per tray (1000) was around $286, so $300 sounds right even for a 3 (almost 4) year old CPU, they aren't in business to sell products for a loss.

Honestly Intel may be more expensive but when my Q6600 lasts me this long and counting it makes you rethink everything price wise.
Exactly ! Like my Q6600 runs battlefield 3 very well for me. It may not be high FPS or anything but on Ultra getting like a minimum of 30 or 35FPS, I'm happy.

Well...no geek buys from PacificGeek. Do you guys? I only buy from Newegg or if I have to, Frys.

TBH I wouldn't mind having a Q9550...anything is better than my Athlon II X2. It's just that the prices are absurd new and used.

Buy buy buy! What a steal!

I've got a QX9650 at 4 Ghz and have no plans to upgrade anytime soon. There's just no reason to.
