Can i force Low Power 3D mode ?

Thread Starter
I was wondering whether i could force a Low 3D mode for Firefox ? Recently i installed an awesome extension - Yet Another Smooth Scrolling https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...olling/?src=ss

Scrolling is now as smooth as it can be, but with hardware acceleration , 2D mode is only enough for simple web pages. When there are multiple larger images and Flash on the page, scrolling begins to stutter and after some time (or by quickly moving the scroll bar) card will kick into Low power 3D (405 mhz core and 324 mhz memory @ 0.962v) or straight into Performance 3D mode. Now, i found that Performance 3D mode is an overkill and on top of that fans of my GeForce 580 will become audible since the core temp will jump to high 40's / low 50's depending on the ambient temps. And TBH , I don't like when I see core clock and voltages jumping up and down every dozen seconds or so. I would like to lock the card when I browse in FF to Low Power 3D once and for all.

There's no option in NV CP to force Low Power 3D and I failed to find one in NVidia Inspector either . Does anyone know a way to do this, a registry hack perhaps ? I'm using Forceware 266.58 atm.

apart from deliberately underclocking your card in all 3 modes via RIVA - I dunno
