Reading the guide now, and checking elitekeyboards website.
If you want volume control you just install something like AutoHotKey, I use it and love it =) Basically the keys that I don't really use on a regular basis, I have them act as volume control or even play and pause. Works great!

There are no US retailers that carry Noppoo products. However, if you don't want to use ebay, qtan has a store that sells them.

Anyways, I don't want to be giving out misinformation but it's true that Filco's have a plate and it's to reduce pinging.

Get a keyboard without a plate and pinging will be an issue, get a keyboard with the plate, it won't be a big deal. General consensus.
Metal plates are dirt cheap in comparison to the cost of the switches and an SMD PCB and the injection molded cases. It's an incidental cost.

Filco, Das, Deck, Ducky, WASD, Leopold, Thermaltake Meka, Corsair K60/K90, Rosewill, everyone has a plate. Poker doesn't have one because some people prefer the feel of PCB-mounted switches, and also they're easier to mod. Also Cherry themselves don't use plates in their keyboards.

There's nothing special about Filco in comparison to other mechanical keyboards.

The Vendio site is a little bit cheaper, i can get it with blues for $97. Says in the guide that blues are best for typing, which is more of a priority than gaming.. should i do it?

No switch is necessarily objectively "better" at one thing or another. The "blues are for typing, blacks are for gaming, browns are in-between" thing is a myth, started by Manyak's own personal preference when he wrote the guide.

MX Blues are clicky and moderate weight and very popular, but a percentage of people (~20%) have trouble gaming on them due to hysteresis.
MX Browns are tactile but not clicky, and very light. They're also very popular. Almost everyone likes MX browns... but many consider them boring.
MX Blacks are linear and very heavy. People who don't like heavier switches have trouble typing with them, and they aren't as popular as blues or browns, but they're still well-liked.
MX Reds are linear and extremely light. They're also way over-hyped, since they really don't feel much different from browns.
MX Clears are tactile and heavy, and kind of hard to find. They have a following... Also there are "Ergo Clears" where you swap the spring from an MX brown/red/blue switch into an MX Clear switch to make it lighter.

I agree with Phaedrus, switch type is a preference. For instance, I'd rather type on reds or browns than blues. I also don't like blacks at all for anything, including gaming which they get recommended for all the time.

It has a number-pad and since you don't like Tenkeyless (TKL, has no number pad), I think it would be a good fit. All I've seen the reviews I've seen from their keyboards have been great, especially regarding their customer service.

You should also check out their custom keyboards. Those are slightly more pricey, but they are customizable after all.

I'm stuck between getting a WASD Custom V1 or a Leopold TKL with MX Reds and WASD Custom-keycaps.
Not to take away from this thread but if you get the keycaps from WASD the spacebar will not fit. I had a guy from geek hack mod them for me : http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?2...o-fit-Leopolds He did an amazing job.

I don't have the luxury of being able to try each one so i may go with the Blues. Before i buy anything though i would like some more suggestions. So what else besides the Noppo Choc mini is there? Ignoring the need for a volume control now, i found another way to do it.

You want a small form factor? I would look at the KBC Poker, Leopold, or Ducky. I think that the Filco with blues are all sold out on amazon.

If you want tenkeyless w/ blues there are a number of options; Ducky, Leopold, Filco, PLU, CM Storm, and Poker I can think of off the top of my head.
