Getting an extra TB for $20 less was really tempting.
First, thanks for posting your thread- seriously. Thanks to Azianai as well for mentioning the MC sale. I kept thinking about getting one more data drive (I have a lot of video & then to back it all up....), but waited too long before they jacked up the prices. I never would have imagined MC would put HDDs on sale at these prices. Very happy to pick up another F4EG for $80.

According to WD, Dell, Apple, HP & other OEMs, that flood in Thailand is going to screw up the HDD supply for at least 6 months if not longer. I made a new thread about the sale and compared to NewEgg prices. MC is charging 1/2 of what NewEgg want's for the F4EG and a 1TB WD drive. I swear NewEgg raised the F4EG price $30 just the past couple of days.

Not sure about Australian pricing, but if $100 a good deal/close to pre-flood prices, you might want to get another F3 1TB for back up or just in case you run out of storage in the next few months. Besides, the flood disaster, Seagate is in a deal to acquire Samsung's HDD buisness. I think the deal's been approved by the EU, but not sure about the FTC. If it goes through, then no more Sammy HDDs and even less competition in the HDD market. Pretty sure WD already bought Hitachi's HDD business.
