Troubleshooting temps - Page 3

So then, assuming that I didn't put both the Antec 620 AND the stock heat sink on incorrectly what could be causing the crazy temps? I have no problem removing and reseating the stock HS and fan after cleaning it but I'm trying to figure out what could be causing the issue. Bad CPU? Bad Mobo?

Ok, so I've removed and reseated the stock heat sink. Here's the photo's of the removal, cleaning and reinstallation. It still shoots up to 87c per the asus utility.

[edit:] So I thought it could potentially be an issue with a setting in the bios so I reset it back to defaults with the exception of changing sidestep to disabled. It still climbs pretty high in temps, not nearly as fast, and about 10c less than it was but still pretty high.

I'm stumped. Should I RMA my CPU and mobo?
