Finished: mATX board in a mITX case - *HIGH RES PICS WARNING*

Hi all,

Just a home server build, nothing too special . Specs are: Athlon 64 X2 4600+ (I think, and yes, AM2 FTW), 2gb DDR2 RAM (generic), Stock cooler, another NIC (only 10/100, might get 10/100/1000 later) and some IDE 40gb HD (hopefully going to be changed to a 2tb sata drive when the prices come down ). Motherboard is an Asus M2N-ME SE. I think that the 1st RAM slot is dead, as it refuses to boot with any ram in it. I've got a case from some other PC from work, originally a VIA mITX pc, running some unusual Linux Distro. I've stripped the case and gotten to work on making the mATX board fit. The PSU is going to be mounted externally (somehow ). The home server will be used for monitoring bandwidth on the internal connection (60gb of internet bandwidth for one household, multiple gamers / heavy internet users. Guess how it turns out every month ), probably hosting a work site, and some CSS/TF2/Minecraft server (not sure yet). I'm intending to run either WinXP or Debian (not sure of this yet, I have Windows XP installed atm, and the bandwidth monitoring software only runs on Windows ). Anyways, enough talking, on with the pictures

Case (ready to be molested modded) and board.

Going to have to do some work here to get the back panel of the board to fit in properly.

There we go

I'm mounting the board on wood (higher than the metal things that are in the case, and wood is non conductive). You can see the Gorilla Glue drying here. Should be done overnight (so more work tomorrow )

Soo many messed up temps. This board has had previous issues with the CPU overheating / messed up temperature readings.

Anyways, thats me out today All pics taken from my phone (Samsung Galaxy S)

Instead of mounting the PSU exernally you could get one of those miniature PSUs.

Would work, but I've already got a full ATX no name PSU thats running it, and I'm not sure how much space will be in the case at the end anyway I've got to fit a whole 3.5" HD in that case too...

Hm this looks interesting. Are you sure you'll be able to mount the motherboard with the rear IO matching up with the case or do you have a different mounting idea in mind?

Did you get that motherboard of TM recently? Have a feeling I saw one on there like that a week or so ago.
