Need some help overclocking

Thread Starter
So i am about to overclock my i7-950 and i just had two questions that would be greatly appreciated if answered. My first question is what cpu cooling should i get, i really wanna go with water cooling but i dont really know what to look for? and when i do get my cpu cooled, what do i have to do to just do a basic overclock of maybe a few tenths of a gHz. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

You won't "need" WCing for a mild overclock. Even stock cooling may be adequate, certainly a high performance after market cooler would help overclock further, if you later wanted to.

I have my i7 950 @ 4ghz 1.250v on a Coolermaster V8. Its good cooler, but there's better. Water can get you around 4.4ghz.

I agree you dont NEED water for OCing something mildly.
get a Noctua D14 if it can fit in your case if not then Thermalright Archon.
that should get to good temps
