BF3 Graphic Settings Help!/Fraps

Thread Starter
So basically I am wondering why I can't run BF3 @ max settings with my setup.

Ultra 1920x1080 4xAA HBAO = 48=60 FPS

High 1920x1080 4xAA HBAO = About the same as Ultra

Medium and Low 1920x1080 No AA No Ambient Occulion = Good FPS No Lag

I get decent frame rate but it's kinda laggy and un-consistent when I move and shoot.

Even recording low settings with Fraps @ half size I lag. I have a external hard drive I am recording to and It still isn't helping. I am wondering if it's a ram problem cause I only have 4GB of ram and 10GB of virtual ram. Is the Virtual ram causing the lag? cause I have a 10GB partition dedicated towards it.

Please Help!

Probably because a 560ti wont max out the game at 1080p w/ 4xAA. Hell, I cant even run the game on ultra @ 1080p w/ 4xAA (get out-of-mem errors).

Turn off AA, use Ultra settings w/ high shadows. Problem solved.

As for the FRAPS lag - fraps does that. You'd need more RAM and possibly another 560ti to fully solve the problem.

Also virtual RAM should only be equal to physical ram, not over 2x more.

I Agree with Vitality. I don't think a single GTX 560ti will be able to max the settings. I'm running a GTX 580 with Crysis 2 max'd out and I get 58-60 FPS. Just don't think the 560ti GPU is up for the task.

I can run Crysis and Crysis 2 maxed 1920x1080 32xQ AA but I can't run BF3?

Is your sig rig correct?

My 580 running at 900mhz gets roughly 48-55 fps on bf3 MAXed out.
From a benchmark released yesterday, it looked like a 6970 or GTX 570 was required to get 60fps average, on high detail at 1080p. That didn't make ultra 60fps

Also another thing to consider, when recording fraps at full size, 60fps, I get about a 3GB file / 1 minute. Most external HDD's can write at max usb 2.0 output of 10MB/s, which translates to 600MB/minute, which is not 3GB/minute.

I am using a Seagate GoFlex USB 3.0 1TB external.

Seriously? because thats pretty much what I get with my rig too (maxed out at 1080)... i3 @ 4.1ghz and 470 @ 825mhz. between 45-55

Just because its USB 3.0 does not mean it will go super uber fast. It is still a HARD DISK DRIVE, which will do 80mbps at the most, most likely much less in real life usage.

Maybe a glimpse of 60fps if you look up at the sky.
