What didn't you like about it?

Did you use a high DPI/sensitivity with the G5? Might be why you never noticed the low max control.

400dpi and a 2.16 sensitivity on CS and I would constantly hit the malfunction speed.
Yep, always high sensitivity (> 1000 dpi). If I have to move more than 10 cm to turn around 360º, that means it's too slow.

That's why you don't notice the low control speed/malfunction speed, and the acceleration will hardly be noticeable for you because your sensitivity is so high.

Well, I don't need some stupid expensive mouse to PWN. I don't understand why someone would throw away so much money into a mouse or a keyboard. I've used mechanical keyboards, and owned a MX518. I notice no difference between those and my MK510 (wireless mouse and keyboard)

The more dots per inch (dpi) a mouse can track, the more sensitive and accurate it is.

Neither is really better; it all depends on your needs and preferences.

Laser mice work on nearly every surface, whereas optical mice may experience trouble tracking on black or shiny surfaces.

My vote would go to a laser mouse with on-the-fly sensitivity changing buttons on the mouse. Get the best of both worlds when higher DPI is needed and back down with a few clicks when not.

Hope that helped.

No, it's not more sensitive nor accurate due to high CPI.

Hi,
Couldn't resist getting in my 2-cents... and adding a bit of humor.
Laser RULES!

Especially DUV KrF excimer lasers... -- just an inside laser guru joke... Hope you appreciate my humor?

For mice, I have optical on one rig and laser on the other.

Laser is more sensitive (some might say accurate) and by far better on atypical surfaces.
