Network Card Disapears After Sleep

Thread Starter
Whenever I resume windows from sleep my wireless network card doesn't work and is not present in the device manager. A reboot fixes this until the next sleep.

NETWORK CARD: TP-LINK TL-WN851N

At a guess, it sounds like your wireless network adapter is getting turned off when the computer sleeps. I don't know anything about your wireless card, but I do know how to stop Windows from shutting the device down.

I consider this to be a medieval solution. You really should check for updated drivers for the card. Wireless cards shouldn't do that. In any event, if you go to Device Manager, right click on the adapter, select Properties, go to the Power Management tab, and clear the Allow to turn off to save power option Windows shouldn't turn the card off anymore.
