Need a case for my first build!

Hey guys, so I just need to get a case to finish my build! You can look in my sig to check out my specs

I was looking at this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119194

But my friend(who builds computers for a living who's been super helpful with other decisions in my build) has told me not to get this case. He thinks it looks low quality (flimsy, plasticky) and he says the cables in the case are very thick and appear to be all bunched up and messy. He told me if I'm going all out, I better get a good case, saying while this case is adequate, I should get something better.

As much as I trust his opinion, I feel like he seemed really biased against this case, so I'm asking you guys here for a second opinion.

He told me to get something like a Phantom. As much as I like the Phantom, I really want to go with this case because it seems well more ventilated (the whole front, top and side is mesh). I am looking for something that will give my case plenty of airflow to cool my parts well. But if I went with another "higher" quality case like the Phantom, would I notice a difference in the temps than in the Sniper? Or is case ventilation really not a problem at all?

Again this is my first build, so please tell me what you think of my decision, his opinion, and what I should go with? Thanks guys!

You know I love Cooler Master cases. I'm a big fan of their HAF series cases. I'd say get a HAF 932.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119160

The HAF series was designed for the best airflow. Airflow can be very important especaiily if overclocking. The Phantom is a pretty nice case. Nice quality. I believe the HAF series is of good Quality also. I personally have a HAF X case and I couldn't be happier. Plenty or room. My temps in case are around 23*C

Nothing really wrong with the case and a lot of OCN has Cooler Master cases at that price point it's just fine if you like the look of it. You can probably get better temps with the HAF 932 but it won't be a huge difference and not worth getting rid of a case you like the look of.

Yeah I totally agree with Scrappy. It really is a matter what you visually like.

+1 to a well written thread IMO

tbh pretty much any modern/decent/brand case will be suffice nowadays. what it comes down to is what unique features you want (either be fan controllers, water cooling options, black interior, USB3 etc) and the aesthetics of the case

i have the corsair 650d, and im WILLING to bet that the half price cm690II adv will outperform it in cooling. so dw about what will cool better

some cases recommendations form budget to high end

antec 100
cm 690 II adv
corsair 500R
silverstone raven
corsair 650d
hafx

hopes this helps

Hmm... I like that case sadly I dont think the 932 has any dust filters.. but overall nice case how is "better" than the Sniper, because of the size?

Is it? I had no idea, with the fan controller on the top I would of never guessed it was that old.

Basically I need a case that has:
Exceptional ventilation/cooling
Great cable management
Front panel fan controls (which I don't think the 932 has)
Front panel led
Front panel ports like USB (I'm sure ever case has these)
Dust filters(not mandatory but nice)
And maybe some cool LED's in case?

I strongly recomend the HAF X as I only just finished my build and found that i amd running short on the room and cannot have all the air flow devices that i wanted in it such and the the side fan funnel thing and such

It's not a bad case, I think the Phantom has better airflow though.
