AMD Overclock Software

Thread Starter
I like using the bios but is there any software that will do the same for AMD?

There is AMD Overdrive but I would seriously recommend sticking to the BIOS since software overclocking is often much more limited and, among other things, less reliable. In my experience often changed settings aren't actually changed as they should be and settings sometimes don't stick and will revert to what was set beforehand.

If you're overclocking for 24/7 use then doing it through the BIOS is the way it should be done, but if you are overclocking just to run certain benchmarks, then overclocking software can be very useful. He's a short list of some useful AMD overclocking software.

AMD Overdrive: Good, but somewhat bloated; you can change FSB and multiplier with this program.
PhenomMsrTweaker: Allows you to change multiplier and P-States (I rarely use this program).
K10Stat: A very simple program that allows you to change the multiplier on K10 CPUs; it's my personal favourite overclocking program, but it does take some getting used to

There are other overclocking programs for AMD, but these three that I listed are probably the most commonly used.
