New i5 2500K plus CM Hyper 212 Evo - Page 2

all your temps are fine you good up to 85c under prime95 or if your real paranoid 75c. personally id let mine hit 85c no worry's under prime. also intel chips are far superior to amd chips when it come to what heat they can handle

also when it comes to applying to TIM nothing beats a blob in the middle of the CPU about the size of a grain of rice no bigger then 2x size of rice

I could try and reapply using the single blob in the middle method, if you think I should. I only did the 2 line method since that was suggested for HDT coolers in the link I provided in the first post.

personally i would do a re seat with a blob in the middle its always worked best for me

You should use RealTemp 3.69.1 for temps.

Thank you I loaded up RealTemp 3.69.1 and my temps are showing about 2c higher on each core. is Realtemp better then HWMonitor?

minor 1-3c at the very most not really much of a point in re seating. also when it comes to software its personal preference hardware monitor gives same readings as realtemp for me anyway. i pref hardware monitor

Good because I didn't want to go through the process again. Seeing as how my Antec P180B doesn't have a CPU cut out on the mobo tray I have to unhook everything Which brings to mind another question. Maybe my P180B is also showing its age and it might be time to upgrade to a case with better air flow? I was thinking Corsair 650D what do you guys think? Will I possibly get better temps from a case with better air flow?

As far as readings go for Sandy Bridge, yes.
