I loved the modded stuff people made more and we used to dowload them and have a hoot with them and as an added bonus they were free and potentially unlimited.

Wake-up, now we're forced to buy these restrictive/limited DLCs.

Actually, they didn't take away mod tools so they could sell DLC - they didn't release them because they DICE said that the licensing costs for the technology they're using for the game would literally have cost them millions, and it wasn't something that the dev team could (on their own) justify like that. Exactly the same for Bad Company 2.

But ignorance is bliss.

Not excited DICE... I'm disgusted. I hope no one here buys it.

I payed 60 bucks for a game that is worth 300. There is about 3 games that will actually make me build a new system JUST FOR THAT GAME, and this is one of them.

Seriously, I'm happy to spend the money... IF they even charge me to begin with.

Nothing is free, I like DICE a lot. EA does have a part in this though... and they will milk it. But hey I'm happy if it means more game content! =D I love BF3!

I don't mind it being milked, so long as it is for a good price. So far, DICE haven't let me down with their DLC. Loved Vietnam, Armoured Fury, Euro Forces, Special Forces... etc...

More or less this.

They should drop the "DLC" title though, because if they keep doing what they've been doing, the only "DLC" they've released recently has been specact. Decently priced expansion packs with enough content to warrant the price tag are welcome by me. BF3: Special Forces (read: expansion pack) would be a must buy for me, but a special forces map pack would not.

Do you actually believe that drivel?

All they have to do is give the community the same tools they use to create content, limited to BF3 only of course. Licensing technology? Only if letting another company use the engine!

Basically, what dice said was a load of garbage.

Yeah, the tools they use to create the content contains bits from Havok and other API bits and pieces. DICE cannot just let this go for free because the content has to be licensed and who is going to pay the millions for it?

A load of garbage it may be, but costly garbage it is.

So where's the proof in what you're saying?

I would sooner believe what the developers say over speculation from some random person on the internet.

I think DICE "get it" when it comes to DLC to be honest.

Vietnam was a good expansion, i'm expecting something that different to get people to fork out.
