[bf3blog] Battlefield 3 has “aggressive downloadable content plan” - Page 9

I just miss the days where DLC or Expansion Pack meant an entirely new game with new units, new everything based on the same storyline and game engine.

Sigh.

But I don't dislike the idea of expansion packs, I actually support them. I just don't want them to be released so frequently that I constantly have to worry about money if I wanna continue playing with the fanbase I am accustomed to.
Caspian Border and Operation Firestorm are the types of Conquest maps we all know and love... Conquest Operation Metro... lol not so much, what a joke it was.

Pull off a BFBC2: Vietnam, sure. Pull off a BF2:Special Forces? Sure. Do a 3 map pack release? no thanks lol.

Or we could have had them rush through building 10 more large scale conquest/rush maps and try to meet EA's release date. Spending time on content is the best way to get it right. I don't know. If the price is reasonable, I'll have no motive to complain - I'm already getting BtK for free and BC2 Vietnam was well worth the 15 bucks I payed for it at release.
I don't mind paying if the content is worth it, add in the fact that I've probably already got my 60 bucks worth out of the base of the game and will be playing it for many years to come.

I'm going to support DICE until their content changes into something I don't like (Duty Calls, or whatever that game is called ). Right now, this is good old BF fun and I don't think they are going to change the formula to a huge extent - they know it works and sets them apart. I doubt the expansion/DLC packs are going to be outrageous in price, I just hope DICE is seeing as much or more of the reward than EA. Rush mode exists for the COD fan base, and even then it's still not as bad.

Am I the only one who is pumped for new content

Anything like special forces/euro force then please take my money!

Think some people are getting this mixed up with console DLC

For faith in this game (We BF2 veterans have been waiting for how many years?!)

I just want them to polish what they already have before working on anything else. I don't want to have to wait a year like in BC2 to get majority of the fixes put in. Hell, it took them 5 years to put in widescreen support for bf2 : /

It was either games were hiked up 10 more dollars a game, or DLC came in to save them. I remember when 40 dollars was the norm, now it's 60. The only reason it's not 70, is because of stuff like DLC.

Hopefully EA get bored of BF3 and move onto the next possible cash cow, and only DICE are left to determine what's in the DLC's and expansions
