HD Radeon 6870 2GB Crossfire, Triple-Monitor, and Battlefield 3

Hello, I was wondering if I crossfire http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150563 and add two monitors to my current monitor to have a resolution of 5760x1080, would be sufficient enough to play Battlefield 3 at decent quality(like above medium).

you cant xfire a 6790 and a 6870, 6870's in xfire should be able to handle it at medium... i vote you just save up and get 1 69X0 and then xfire as soon as you can save up some more for another

Yes you can... 6870 and 6790 will CF perfectly fine. They use the exact same GPU only the 6970 is clocked down.

The 6790 that I have now, I'm giving it away, I mean two 6870s in CF, sorry for the confusion.

if i xfire a 6870 2gb with a 6870 1gb, will it be using 1 o 2 gbs of vram?
I really doubt CF 6870's can max out BF3 on 3 monitors. I'm guessing you will be able to tun it at around medium, but you might not get sufficient FPS. If you want an eyefinity set-up look into 6970's.

It will always use the Vram of the lower Vram card.

I think AMD cards are having huge issues with drivers in BF3 especially with crossfire and micro stuttering. You would likely need 6970's to run eyefinity though, and you still might not be able to do ultra or high with playable fps with two cards.
