IMHO, a 3.5'' screen with 300PPI is better then a larger screen with less PPI.

Personally I like the 3.5'' screen of the 4S just fine. I keep it mounted on the windshield so I can work iTunes or Pandora while I'm driving. I'v seen some pretty huge Android phones that would obscure my vision worse then I do already...

Maybe a bit bigger though.
How can they use the same screen but with a larger resolution? The same glass panel, you mean? But yes, I'd like to see a 4-4.4" screen with 400 PPI. That would be amazing, and it could play 720p too

Let's assume Apple maintains the 960x640 resolution on the iPhone but with a 4.4 inch screen which would result in 262 PPI which is almost exactly the 263 PPI of an iPad 3 with a 2048x1536 resolution, which is consistent.

Or, let's assume they use the higher 1440x960 resolution which results in 400 PPI. The required resolution for an iPad to have 400 PPI is 3072x2304 on a 9.7 inch display and that's pretty tough. Here's a outline of resolution, pixel, and PPI, at screen sizes:

960x640: 614,400 (326 PPI @ 3.5 inches)
1024x768: 786,432 (131 PPI @ 9.7 inches)
1440x960: 1,382,400 (400 PPI @ 4.4 inches)
2048x1536: 3,145,728 (263 PPI @ 9.7 inches)
3072x2304: 7,077,888 (400 PPI @ 9.7 inches)

I don't believe 3072x2304 is possible right now (in terms of producing such a high resolution on a 9.7 inch screen) however, I believe 2048x1536 is, and I believe 1440x960 is as well, which leaves the question:

Is Apple going to make the pixel density of the iPad and iPhone the same or are they happy to keep the two distanced? In other words, are we going to see a 400 PPI 4.4 inch iPhone 5 and a 263 PPI iPad 3, or a 262 PPI iPhone 5 and 263 PPI iPad 3. I'm hoping for the former, because it would really be amazing.

I agree. Out of curiosity, couldn't you use Siri to handle playing music? Albeit, not for Pandora until third party APIs come about.

Wow this thread changed topics fast.

To the one who mentioned bout a warranty. Well after the warranty you would obv switch to more custom tactics.

If you're going to carry something around 24/7, why make it enormous? The iPhone is the perfect size imo, and its size is one of three reasons I bought the iPhone 4s over EVERYTHING in the Verizon store despite having no prior history with Apple.

You can replace the battery yourself. With a kit of course

Apple's warranty(Applecare) is free though.
