[MaximumPC]AMD Readying Brazos 2.0 for Q1 2012

A new report at Computerbase.de (translation) suggests that a successor to the successful Brazos platform is on its way from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). They say appearances can be deceptive, but so can be names. Even though it’s codenamed Brazos 2.0, there is nothing to suggest that it will be a generational leap in terms of performance. On the contrary, everything in the report points to a more subtle performance boost.

The big thing happening in this market is keeping power levels decreasing while subtly increasing performance. Not much to see here.

Tablets can be a hassle, easy to damage, have to make sure no one steals it, no keyboard... you know, and no real Windows OS unless it is running Windows 7 Starter.

except for the keyboard part, you could say all those things about a tablet.

and if you have an ASUS Transformer+dock, you have a keyboard....

The tablet problem price. A 64GB ipad is $800; someone could buy a ultraportable for that price or just a little more and have 5 hr battery life (instead of 10, but still enough for most users) and much better system specs/performance.
