Is crossfire supposed to utilize both cards equally?

Thread Starter
Playing BF3 with my xfire 6950s I realized using gpuz that my max load on card 1 was 98% but card 2 was like 20%. Is that how crossfire works? It uses up one before moving on to the next? Or does this mean my cpu is bottlenecking or something else? thank you

They should both be at 99%. Low GPU usage can be caused by a few things, but in your case I'd say your cpu is holding it back.

It is not your cpu. Probably driver issue. Remove and install 11.10 preview and cap 4

Either a CPU bottleneck, bad driver, bad game update, or you have vsinc enabled.

Sounds like a CPU bottleneck or BF3.

After the last update, I went from 80-120 fps to 40-60 FPS.

I don't know what the hell is going on with BF3.

Try running the heaven benchmark to see if thats the problem

both cards should be running at the same usage.

Ugh, why do the intel users automatically claim everything is a cpu bottle neck? Anyway, no need for two threads, I replied in your other one too

It's probably the drivers, BF3 hasn't been out that long, so amd is probably still working the kinks out

Your Cpu is probably a -slight- bottleneck, but nowhere near that much
