Thanks for the info man :-) I think I will get the Evga Ref 580 then and return my 6950. How loud does it get while playing BF3? Is it like a jet Engine?

Well noise to each person is different. (I've read some guys with 6990's say it's not loud. So that can vary). To me it's not loud. The vapor chamber cooling blows the hot air exhaust out the rear flow bracket instead of being dumped in your case. Definetly not a jet engine, maybe a calm flowing river?

During gaming I'm so focused on the game with it on my BOSE 3 Companion speakers, it's theatrical sound, I'm so engrossed I'm not noticing the fan.

Yes it ramps up, all cards do. I've got an slightly aggressive manual fan settings option which is better to do, as none of the video cards out have a good fan profile with auto settings.

If your looking for single GPU card solution you won't be dissapointed. On my single 1920x1200 120Hz monitor I'm even doing ok, one notch turned down, running 3D vision gaming. I can't wait for Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon in 3D coming out soon.
