Thread Starter
I'm putting together a pc for a friend out of my spares, during downloading of drivers for the mb I looked at what cpu's it could take and noticed this Phenom IIX6 1100T,3.3GHz,125W,rev.E0,SocketAM3,6-Core, the cpu in it at the moment is a 775 be with 4 gig ddr2.
I'm wondering as am3 use ddr 3 if I was to put a AM3 cpu in would I be able to put ddr 3 in as AM3 use ddr3?

No that motherboard supports DDR2 only

AM3 CPU's have DDR3 and DDR2 memory controllers but the board itself needs to have DDR3 slots

Do not use the x6 1100T on that board.
The 3+1 phase power on weak 3-transistor design will not run it very well.

yeah if I was to go that way I'd just get all new mb/ram smile.gif

The other problem I'm having is getting it to recognise 2 ide hdd's, and with the price of new drives shooting up I was hoping to get ide's till they come back down
