And NOW you are making more sense when you no longer say it's the only selling point for their system.
If I could play all of my PC games with the 3DS method, I would. That was my point. That is the one thing I think it has an upper hand in compared to PC, which still require glasses which barely work and are too expensive.

And loool, I still never said only. But their exclusive titles have been such big selling points across generations it's silly to not consider it the main reason, even still for Wii. The few cases this doesn't happen is old people and parents who want to play some exercise game. But I have never heard someone say "OMG I want to get a Wii for _____" and have that reason not be a Nintendo game.

You've got it dead wrong, what they need to do is secure some good, solid 3rd party support. They left the floor open for the 3rd parties with the 3DS launch, but tbh, the presence by the big publishers given was weak. Not Nintendo's fault, rather the big companies.

With the Wii U, they need to actively seek out 3rd party games, not just publisher support. Hopefully with Darksiders 2 etc, that is the beginning of Ninty's 3rd party romp.

1st party game wise, they're solid I reckon. Might not be new IP's, but interesting things are being done with the old IP's. Skyward sword for instance looks to mix up the formula a fair bit. I'm very interested to see what retro studios are doing, because I absolutely LOVE their games.

Obviously, the largest problem they face with Wii U is weaker technology than their competitors, but truthfully, I don't think MS will commit to high power, rather slightly higher power, tied in with a refined Kinect. They blew a wad on R+D and marketing I'm guessing, and that tech of theirs has barely had a year. Sony don't have this problem, because they just shamelessly ripped off the wiimote style of gaming. R+D there is relatively little.

Same time, I don't think Vita, or 3DS for that matter, are as relevant as they would've been say...4-5 years ago. Portable gaming is dominated by smartphones now. The 3DS now has a price point that its appealing for parents to get kids. The Vita does not. It has a different appeal, but that niche is more...niche, haha.
I'm not arguing that they need better third party support I have said that in another thread, localizing the the titles I mentioned for the U.S. certainly wouldn't hurt though especially considering the immense fan outcry and petitions.

I can understand what you mean about the 3d without glasses being great. But I still gotta say that when I played around with the 3ds, the 3d was seriously lacking. I'd say the text in games was the most 3d. Not only that, but the viewing angles to get it to look 3d were very VERY narrow.

Kinect, at least when I tried it a few times, does not feel as 1:1 and at the same time, makes movement odd. I've seen some downright weird attempts at solving this issue.
Hahaha, that is a good point, I guess it comes down to how creative you can be in solving the issue at hand with Kinect.

Also in terms of the 3DS, I think the price drop should help it.
Remember, the 3D effect is sorta "optional" no one *makes* you play with it on, even if I didn't enjoy the effect, I would still be buying the system around this time if I hadn't gotten it after this years E3 just because of the games coming out for it, I CANNOT WAIT(!!!!!!) for Luigis Mansion, I have wanted a sequel for that SO badly, not to mention all of the other games coming to it this holiday season as well.

Will they loose some market share, sure, but its not like they don't already DOMINATE the handheld market, they can afford a 10% loss of market share and still be the leader.

The one thing that may kill them for good, is if the Wii U only supports one of the "Screentrollers" since that would kill at home multiplayer, and make the system not worth it at all. I pray that they didn't make that mistake though. I realllllly hope they didn't, but we shall see at E3 2012

The issue with the 3DS was that there weren't almost any titles out at launch date.

That cripples every single platform, even if it's as innovative and awesome as the 3DS.

we need real controls nintendo. im sorry, but motion controlls are NOT the future. and touch screen controllers? how does that make sense? i cant feel the buttons so i have to look and i cant rest my fingers either.

and how about some real games. im pretty sick of "MARIO CART SUPER LUIGI LULZ ANNAVURSURY XXVIIXI EDISHIN" what happened to zelda?

stop designing it for children.

this is why you fail.

While it sounds bad (and is bad), they're in no real danger of going under anytime soon. They've sold 90 million Wii systems at profit, 140 million DS (I'm not sure if they were initially making a profit from each system sold) and software sales numbering in the hundreds of millions between the two.

This. I mean, what's up with the Wii U? It's a terrible idea and a blatant money grab. The controller scheme alone looks so complicated it's not worth using, not to mention the cost! I would buy into it if you got 4 free controllers with the setup, but not having to shell out as much as a new game just so someone else can play, I'm not that generous.
