Oooooh boy. Alright lets talk about some FACTS here.
This is the Vostok ice core - one of the largest records of direct climate data we have. The far left is us, the rest is 400,000 years of data. You might be able to see that the CO2 concentrations now are higher than they've ever been
in that record (and in fact for over 2 million years). Similarly you might see the 'sawtooth' trends which have been occurring during this time period as well. If we were to look at those trends we should be in a period of cooling now
but instead we are warming.
On that fact alone we need something to show why we aren't cooling. None of the cosmic forces, which we understand very well and can model quite easily, contribute enough to account for this. Therefore what else could it be? Hmm ok well we already mentioned that the CO2 concentrations are the highest they've been for over 2 million years and we know CO2 is a greenhouse gas, AND we know that CO2 is anthropogenically produced. Therefore
it is wholly reasonable to surmise that humans are
the cause of this local warming period and
it is due to CO2 production. See the logic!?Edited by Sylence - 10/30/11 at 8:30pm
