HWMonitor causes major stuttering??

Thread Starter
I've found one other person through google who has encountered this weird issue. I don't ever remember this problem existing before. I am currently running the latest version of hwmonitor as I am overclocking my i7 920 D0 on an Asus P6X58D-E following this post:

Everything works fine but as soon as I run hwmonitor, everything starts to stutter. It freezes about every 30sec interval. Using Real Temp, I am able to monitor my temps without this weird stuttering.

I have no idea what this means as my computer seems to be stable without HWMonitor running.

Ditto, but only after I installed my Samsung HDD a couple of years ago. Basically every time hwmonitor polls, it stutters. I can even hear a slight activity in the hdd as well just by having hwmonitor running in the background.

hwinfo works just fine and dandy.
Here's a video .. On the left hwmonitor, on the right hwinfo.

Edit: Well I didnt see the date of the thread, found it via google so .. Yeah sorry smile.gif

Haha thread from the dead.

Regardless, I had the same issue with CoreTemp. I replaced CoreTemp with HWMonitor to fix this - ironically.

I think it's just hit and miss with monitoring software and it's impact on your setup, generally it's the first thing I start closing if I've got an odd issue I can't identify (stutter, frames freezing, odd lag, etc.)

Yep I think so too. I've been using HWmonitor for years, but as soon as I popped in the Samsung HDD, stutters occurred so I had to find some other monitor. Been using HWiNFO ever since.
