LGA 775 Socket Motherboard Upgrade

Thread Starter
Hi,

Here's my situation I currently have an Intel Desktop Board that only has one PCI-E slot, can only run my RAM at 800Mhz and isn't capable of overclocking. Basically it seems to be bottlenecking the machine and I really want to play battlefield 3 at more respectable framerates.

So I've been looking for a motherboard to suit the following requirements:

1. Allows me to overclock my Core2Quad Q9550
2. Allows me to run my DDR2 RAM at full clockrate 1066Mhz
3. Allows me to run a GTX275 and a 8800GT in SLI *Is this possible*
4. Has a FSB of 1333Mhz

So far the only board I've came across which seems to fit the bill is the ASUS P5N-T Deluxe. But it's a bit on the pricey side, does anyone have any recomendations that are any cheaper

Thanks in advance,
Grant.

The Evga boards like the 780i,790i and even the 750i are all great boards that will fill your requirements. The Evga 750i is the most affordable and range's from $50-$80 used or the ASUS P5N-D is another decent 750i chipset motherbord in the same price range.I owned a P5N-D and ran 2x9600GT's with a c2d and I loved it!

#3 isnt posible, but i beleve that an 8800GT can be used for PhysicX

also, if you are going for pure CPU overclocking, get a ep45-UD3P... it will OC you 9550 to probably 4GH, will run ur RAM at full, and has 2 PCI-E x16 slots (will run you rcards @ x16/x8)... probably the best 775 board ever made IMO... they runn around $100 on ebay, and are well worth it if you want to OC a 775 chip... the p5n-t isnt that great compaired to the UD3P in my experence...
