BF3: What browser is best to leave running for Battlelog?

Thread Starter
My PC can run Battlefield 3 on low settings just fine, but it takes a very long time to load larger maps. I use Firefox to load battlelog and there are very few problems per se, but it is perhaps not the best choice to leave it running, as it takes up substantial system resources to stay running in the background. Is there a lite-er version of FF, or perhaps chrome, that would make the game run smoother or load faster? Or is there no real way to get around this ill-fated game design? confused.gif

Probably Chrome or Firefox. If it's just sitting in the background it's probably not using your GPU or even processing anything with your CPU but it will still eat up ram.

How much ram are you using with a browser open and BF3?

The amount of memory the browser consumes should be negligible compared to the amount of memory BF3 eats up. To save resources you would probably be better off disabling Aero effects.

If you have a 64-bit OS and have money for more RAM (and a motherboard that can handle more), you would probably see an improvement.

Are you also running extensions on your FireFox? The difference between Chrome and Firefox when having only one tab open is very minor. If you have extensions on the other hand, then that's a different story.

EDIT:

Have you tried opening up Chrome instead and just copy the URL ?

I want it to happen when i click the BF3 icon on my desktop, or when i do it in Origin.

Only way I believe that's possible would be to switching your default browser.
