[Kotaku] MW3 Guns get better with use - Page 5

I don't understand why developers insist on implementing systems that only raise the barrier to entry for a larger online community. It's not fun for a newb to run around with the ****tiest gear only to be destroyed by people who not only have the best gear but also have the skills that come with hours of practice.

Trying to provide the cheap high of constant perks and level-ups does more to harm the community than strengthen it imo. Guys are more concerned than ever with individual achievement and team play is regularly given second-rate status.

Here's a better idea, provide new equipment unlocks or xp for when your team actually wins. I think it'll greatly improve the quality of the online experience for everyone. Hey camper, you can sit there all day with your 3 kills, 0 deaths, but you won't unlock the next scope. Hey Rambo, you can throw your godly stats in people's faces and curse out your teammates when you lose, but maybe if you tried to be a better teammate, you can get your little e-prestige gold star.

Quit your *****ing, it's so god dam annoying. Bf3 and call of duty are completely different. STOP COMPARING THEM. There both really easy games to be honest and it's not as if you play battlefield you're all of a sudden in this elite pc gamer club yo.

Sadly COD proves a few things about people:

1. They like explosions ( See also Transformers )
2. They like fast gameplay
3. They like to play for themselves
4. They are terrible at gaming but want instant gratification, which COD provides since it's so noob friendly.
5. Once something becomes uber-popular, they'll continue buying the next iteration no matter what ( See also Apple products )

People are stupid sadly. Just look at all the people getting hacked in WoW and/or their email accounts lol. Even identities getting stolen is their fault most of the time.

But yea.. if you want a game that encourages teamplay, that's what battlefield 3 is for! COD will never encourage it since it would ruin the formula that millions have been conditioned to like.

I don't have too much time to spend playing the hell out of these games so I'm a bit concerned about being completely outgunned by people who can play for hours every day of the week. It was tough to get in on the ground floor in BLOPs with the 3 rnd burst M16, and it's always a slow start to unlock optics for a new gun in BF3 for me. I really don't like this idea as the probable OP gun could become a magic death machine in MW3.

I'm not really a fan of this idea for competitive MP. It's great for an RPG but anything that creates imbalances should be kept out of MP.

I just don't find it fair if two people start shooting at the same time and one person wins because they've used their gun for 40 hours. If they implemented this on a per game basis I'd be fine with it, as at the beginning of each match everyone would be equal, and it could add to the meta game (However small it may be).

Hopefully they have a barebones playlist on launch; that and gun game were the only things I played in BO.

shouldn't it be up to the player to get better at using a gun the more he uses it? Maybe this is a way of helping those with no skill

Actually, IRL when you fire a weapon you get better with it and can make adjustments to sight to ultimately make the weapon "better".

I think this is what they had intended and not really to make it "better".
