New Headphones

Thread Starter
I currently got Sony MDR-XB500. One of the hear cups broke so i am looking for something new. I live in Canada at its a bit harder to find Headphones here. Mostly gaming and comfort is my main priority. Price ~ $100 but if really good could go higher. Will be stuck using stock Sound card for space reasons, unless there are USB sound card etc. I do like headphones with bass.

Well, the Samson SR850s have both bass and a good enough sound stage for gaming. Those are way under 100. As for comfortability, perhaps not the most comfortable.

JVC RX700s have better build quality and comfort, but the sound stage is inferior. On the plus side there is more bass on the RX700s than the Samson SR850s.

So if you want more advantage in gaming, The SR850s. If you want more comfortability, the RX700s.

The SR850s are the better choice imo.

I really hate it how everyone on this forum either suggests the HD 555s or the AD700s. Some of you are so biased on your decisions. Lol. He stated that he likes headphones with bass.

Well, if you're looking for something good over 100 with some solid bass I keep hearing great things about the ATH-M50s.

They're 141.76 right now on Amazon, and every single review I've read comments purely on how good the bass is on these as well as their comfort and quality. If I cared about heavy bass, I'd probably give these a shot myself, but honestly~ my HD595s give me plenty of bass. I don't even know why people say it doesn't have any. It's not anemic.

It's not like the song has no bass lol~ some people seem to want their drivers to shake with every bass drop or something. But yeah, if anyone else has used the ATH-M50s they could probably tell you more.

I like this part of one of the Amazon reviews, though it's a little silly~ lol

Quote:
Lows 5/5 - I wish I could rate this higher. No other headphone (that I've heard) can touch this. Take two, high quality, sealed sub woofers. Shrink them, and somehow stuff them into the M50's. Then listen. Your brain will become grits. Your eyeballs will shake furiously. Your jawbone will uncontrollably vibrate. The bass in this headphone can resurrect the dead (and then some). The bass notes come in with such passion, that you instantly fall in love. It is highly textured, laser-accurate, and tightly controlled with ZERO distortion. There is no need to crank up the EQ on this. You can, but you've been warned. The bass is the best part about the M50. It is FLAWLESS.
