ASUS Striker Extreme or ASUS P5QL-E

Hi mates, have the chance to get one of this two mobos by cheap price (40-60€) so what do you choose?

who is better for Overclocking? i have intel E5300 2.6Ghz OC 3.2Ghz, want up 3.8-4.0Ghz

both mobos are great and i have no idea which to pick up, i know striker is better but is older, and other is not as good as the other but is newer

my idea is up E5300 to 3.8-4.0ghz, put 8 Gb ram ddr2 800, 4x HDD sata, 9800Gt and Win7 64bits
(can get an e8400 cpu, not sure...)

I'd go with ASUS because of their reliable quality and living upto the par with stability.

Can't go wrong wrong there.

I would go with the P5QL-E. It looks to have a better power phase; 8 or 6+2 or something while the Stiker looks to have only a 6? (correct me if I'm wrong)

Everything on the striker is really a luxury or can be added through some sort of motherboard atttachment.

And I have a P5N-D, about the same age as your choice of mobos, running Win7 with no problem. So you should be fine on that side too.

But that's my opinion.
What do you plan to do, SLI? If so then the striker since the P5QL-E only supports a single PCI-E
But what do you plan to run on this motherboard?

striker extreme is a much better motherboard. the P43 chipset on the P5QL is terrible, as is the 680i on the striker, but at least the striker has more features.

Overall I would say the P5QL-E, but I really don't like where the 24-pin is.
But if you can find out what power phase the striker is at, I think I would go with that.
You pushing a high OC so you need to have a strong board to support that.
