Any way to upgrade Compaq BIOS?

Thread Starter
Ok, so my dad bought a compaq presario 6330ca a while back, then he got another pc and gave me the 6330ca, It was running a bit slow so i added another stick of 512mb (total 768), and a gforce fx 6600, + a 120gb hdd. I got a new case for it too, everytime i boot i get the ugly compaq logo, I wanna know if there is any way to get rid of the compaq bios? I went on their site and they have an update bios for the pc, I'm wondering is there any way to somehow edit the compaq bios to get rid of that compaq logo? OR flash a compleat different bios so I could OC my p4 2.0ghz.. .. I dont mind that much of overclocking but i want to get rid of the compaq logo..

Sometimes you can turn the logo off in the BIOS, but I can't garuantee it. I would also not suggest flashing to a different BIOS because those BIOS are designed specifically for that Mobo. You will definitely have problems.

Youll likely just have to get another mobo, besides a mobo you buy will almost be definatly better than that one.

unless your mobo manjfacturer makes a program for it (like asus do) then you will not be able to, unless you find a hacked bios and install that (very unlikely and risky)

Pentium 4 2.0Ghz?

I upgraded my wife from a Pentium 4 Dell system. She had a hard time even running Facebook. Today's webpages are loaded with Flash Videos and lots of other things that can bog down a basic system like that. You may want to look into building an entire new system. You can build a basic desktop relatively inexpensively these days.
