Only one register was open so I got in line behind a woman with a full cart of stuff who had 3 kids with her. It was obvious they were not all her own (she was caucasian, one of the children was african american) and I struck up a conversation asking if she was a nanny or ran a daycare or something to that effect. It turns out she adopted two of children with her husband and then found out recently he'd been cheating on her. When she confronted him about it to work it out, he left and took everything while she was at her mother's house with the kids. She came home to an empty house. That's a lot to tell a stranger, in my opinion.. but I commisserated with her because that would be a really crappy situation to be in. The cashier rung her up and she swiped her card but it was declined. She tried another card and it was declined. She was all frustrated saying "no way, there is plenty of room on these cards." She started apologizing to the cashier and trying to put stuff back in the cart so I just pulled out my card and swiped it. I'm $250 poorer but I feel great for helping that lady and her kids eat for another week. Hopefully her dirtbag husband starts paying some alimony or something.. I get the feeling he ran up the balances buying stuff after he left her.

I'd like to be able to say I'd give away the 5770 to a friend or something but honestly I'd crossfire it with the one I have and get caught up to be able to run some newer games with higher settings

He was an older guy, had obviously not bathed in a long time and his feet were sticking out holes in his shoes because they were so worn out. You could pretty much see his whole foot coming out of one of them.

As we were leaving we couldn't get over how sad it was, especially with it getting down below freezing at night and full winter coming soon here in Idaho. We drove across the street to a Big5 and bought a new pair of hiking boots and a new pair of thick socks and drove back over to Starbucks hoping he would still be there. He was still there and I handed him the hiking boots and talked to him for a second. He was obviously happy and appreciative.

It would have been so easy to just walk away, but for some reason we couldn't and were very glad we didn't.
These two are really nice, honestly I cant ever imagine seeing someone picking up the shopping bill or buying a pair of shoes and socks for somebody...so kind.

I dont really have a story to pass, we dont really get bad weather here like you guys in USA/CA, only thing I did was driving behind someone who was driving along, then out of nowheer this old geezer just pulled out infront of her. She slammed on the brakes and the guy put his hand up then drove off. I stopped behind her then saw her upset, so I pulled up alongside and said ill just pull over.

I went and spoke to her, she was crying so I just waited until she was alright and ok to drive on. Obviously its quite scary wehn you have a near miss like this so I knew how she felt. I was running late for work but it didnt matter much. Soon as she was ok I carried on as normal.

Alot of these stories are about people getting stuck in cars and then needing other people's help. Frankly the amount of people who would rather drive on than stop and offer assistance is disgraceful sometimes.

A couple of months ago, a homeless man approached me and asked for some money to buy a sandwich. I gave him $20 and he ran across the street to the sandwich shop.

I'm sure OP will have a hard time choosing a winner! I have nothing that compares to all the amazing acts of kindness.

Good luck!

Well, I'm a junior in highschool. There is the guy named Joe, a senior, he's the skater type but is a really good guy. I have never heard one bad thing about him. Never gets in trouble, always nice to others, cool to hang out with etc. An all around good kid from what I hear. But his family is and always has been short on money. Like I have had people tell me they don't really like going to his house because it's nearly falling apart and nearly every wall in his has has some kind of mold growing on it. It sounds like he is in a pretty tight situation.

Well this girl I have been friends with since middle school is good friends with him. She is into photography and is actually pretty good at it. Well I used to be as well but I sold my camera and have just stuck to editing photos. Well Joe asked me on facebook if I could edit his senior pics for them if our mutual friend took the pics. If anyone has kids or recently graduated, they know senior pictures don't come cheap. Well me and Kirsten both did them for free.

He was super pleased by the outcome of them. When I saw him at school he came up to me and bear hugged me and had the biggest smile ever on his face! It made me feel pretty good about myself to do something for someone other than myself. It's my first "random act of kindness" and I'm sure it doesn't really compare to anyone else's, but I figured it was worth a try. And I wanted to share what I did because it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Here is proof and my faves out of the pics I did for him-

That last one was his favorite!

Also, my birthday is November 5th, so it'd be a nice birthday present.

Thanks for taking the time to read my submission, and goodluck to everyone else!

This is grate, beware of the story tellers they are fake, you can spot these people by their massive ego's. I have been around lairs my hole life. My family and I grew up in the hood. So remember beware of detailed story's. I wish more people would require you to have more then 20 rep on a site. If people actually do what you are asking then their will be a domino effect. How does it fell to change the world?

I gave a student (who I did not know very well) a bus pass to get home. The next day, he tried to give it back but I told him that it was his to keep. I drive to school everyday and it never occurred to me to give away a bus pass that I hardly use.

What a time to post this, when it's my mid-term and I don't plan on doing anything.

Last week I donated 140 euro to a children's charity called Bernardos as part of a Halloween dress up competition.

My two acts of kindness were: I gave a homeless guy some leftover pizza I was going to have for lunch when I was traveling around the city and I bought some extra tacos and a drink when I was hanging out with one of my friends in Taco Bell and gave it to a homeless guy asking people for change.

Props to drnilly007, glakr and mike431635. You guys are awesome!
