ASUS CuCore 5770 for Random Act of kindness - Page 6

Well I haven't done anything like that lately but a while ago I helped a woman move her shopping cart about 3 steps down in front of my apartment when I was leaving. Nothing big really.

3 stories?

1) bought 1 of those rotisserie fully cooked chickens that safeway sells for dinner for my family. as i was leaving i saw a girl with kids asking for spare change. i didnt have any cash on me so i went and got a 20 from the atm and gave it to her, and her kids looked hungry so i askd her when the last time they ate she said earlier that day but i wasn't sure so i gave them the chicken. it looked like they were living in a car?, so i gave her a few dollars gas on my cc. i had given her my # in case she was in real bad shape so she called and said that her kids and her were going to be on the street that night, so i called a motel that she was nearby and paid for a few days. (kids needed a bath anyway. i wouldnt want my kids dirty so im not going to let someone elses' if i can help it)

2) i bought 2 pair of shoes at a mall one day, then not to long after i met a homless guy with shoes that talked so bad you could see his feet. So i asked if he wanted a pair of shoes, he said that'd be nice. so i arranged to meet him the next day and gave him the brand new shoes (i actually didn't wear them after i tried them on!) and an outfit to match.

3). my wife had been seeing a homeless man at a bus stop near where she was taking a class, she said she wanted to do something for him. so we arranged for her to make him lunch, and i gave him one of my outfits.

there are a BUNCH more stores, i don't do it to be rewarded though. i just see someone in need and that's that. but i'm a minister irl so it's kind of what i do. I just posted to prove that some people really do care. like this guy

I am not entering this as I believe I do not need to rewarded for random acts of kindness. It's more of something that people should be doing anyways if they're able to.

I don't know if this counts as a random act of kindness but....

A few weeks ago I was scrambleing to gather some change to get milk and bread till the end of the pay-period when I got my check.... When I got to the check-out of store I was about a dollar short and there was a $10 dollar bill sitting on the counter... no one around and the cashiere was in back helping another customer. I placed my items on the counter, ignoreing the cash that someone left behind.

As cashiere was ringing me up and I was trying to hand him my money to pay for the items, I set a can of soda to the side to place back on the shelf so I wouldn't go over... he reached for the bill on the counter and I informed him that it was there when I got there...

Needless to say, I could have had taken that bill and no one would have been the wiser, but I would have known...

Even though I don't like talking about it, however, I'll share since everyone is enjoying reading everyone's stories and as am I. So I'll do my part.

On May, 22 of this year a tornado tore through Joplin. Demolishing and ripping up everything and anything in it's path. Well I was at work at the time and was with a customer, out of nowhere I get a phone call and it was from my mom. Since my manager was there I didn't answer the call and figured, eh probably nothing. Well she called again and I answered and she told me what was going down and then the sirens went off right as she told me, not even 5 minutes later, call lost, sky blackens, complete and utter chaos. After the storm had past I tried driving home, well needless to say I work a little on the outskirts of Joplin so I had to take the highway ended up getting as close as I could but ended up walking 7 miles to get home. (Didn't find my car till 3-4 days later.) As I saw the hospital from a distance, I started running home to get my truck. After getting home I went up to a friends house in my truck to get him, and some other people and we went up the St. John's Hospital (Which was completely tragic and just heart dropping, almost gone..) we were helping them get people out of the first couple of floors of the hospital, loading people inside ambulances, people who had severed limbs, pieces of trees, wood, straight threw them, and the worst was the children that were injured. We ended up staying there till about 5 A.M. and the tornado hit at 5:33 PM. We were covered in blood, sweat, and tears but ended up saving 78 lives that night, and I didn't have to go, but it's one of those things you see and your just there and ready to do whatever you can.

One random act of kindness I will never forget. But it's nice to see that so many other people are sharing, keep'em coming, I've enjoyed the good read!

Fixed a computer for free. Saw an ad ~a week ago on Craigslist. Woman said the computer kept crashing and didn't have enough money to pay 'GeekSquad'. Hard drive was the culprit causing the BSoD. Replaced it with a hard drive I had collecting dust, re-installed XP, installed drivers, and added virus protection. She was extremely happy.

Very generous of you OP. Good luck everyone and congrats to the winner!

Well, if you guys haven't been watching/listening the news, NJ,CT and other northeastern states had a huge snow storm. So many trees, big branches, etc fell. I had to pick up trees on my lawn and I even helped my neighbors out as well. I decided to help other people on and off my street as none of us had power for 2 days(I haven't had power since Saturday night! Power line completely fell off). Been a really really crazy week I must say... But gladly no one was harmed and most people have power back including me!

A buncha good people in here, I like reading all of these. Makes you feel warm inside.

2 years ago I was on my way home from work taking the train. It was maybe 10-11 at night middle of the winter (maybe 10-20F outside). After I got off and walked outside there was a homeless guy curled up on one of the benches where the busses go. He was passed out but looked pretty damn cold, he didn't have a jacket. I put my coat around him when I walked by and left a $10 in the pocket. Probably one of the best feelings I've ever gotten after that. Some random guy saw me do it and actually offered me his coat, I told him it was alright though. He seemed lost for words.
