I work with a guy who really needs a beating on a daily basis. I never give too him. Never once.

So this is some ummm tough stuff I would never want to have to do again but I just had to do it considering the circumstances. So about 6 months I took in my niece (wife's niece actually) and she has been living with us and we have been supporting her. She's 16 and a great kid who's just gotten tossed around from place to place.

About a year and a half ago she was sexually assaulted by her best friend...along with 3 other girls. Cops moved slowly on it all and the girls were too embarrassed/scared/traumatized to make statements. So a year later she was called in by the DA to make her statement since they had brought charges and needed testimony to see if they could get a plea bargain.

No one else in the family volunteered to take her to be with her while she told her side of the story, so I did it. Needless to say you are never ready to hear these stories in person and the looks on a woman's face. It's heavy stuff at the least. On girl didn't have parents who would show up and she wasn't going to testify. I couldn't let her have to do this alone. I'd never met this girl at all. So basically I'm being the shoulder to cry on, the rock , the parent for this girl I'd never met. Kindness I guess fits this but damn that turned my world upside down.... a complete stranger trusting me to be the one to listen to her most traumatic moment and see her live it over again.

I run for a cross country team at NHTI, and every year we go out with cans of food, and run to the "homeless" city by the river. We deliver a can of food each to the homeless city there. Well this year I brought a bag full of cans and ran there with everyone. They were so happy they gave us a tour of there home.

Its quite amazing the small city they have going, tents everywhere, steps, rock walls, there quite the crowd. Wish I took pictures.

I saw some people on the side of the road [I 75] with a flat tire and I pulled over and changed it for them, I think they were "slow" or something, at least slower than me. they were older to.

Well a few days ago while waiting outside my University Building for my Dad to come pick me up there is a Homeless Man who sits and asks for money, every so often someone does.
After a of searching I found £20 in my Wallet, handed it to him and he jumped up and yelled "THANK YOU" and rushed over to Subway and bought a massive Sub Roll xD.

This past haloween my son (who is 11) had made arrangements to go out with a group of his friends. Now my son is unique in that he can play ( well, I guess hang out at 11) with anyone in his grade. There are the sports kinds and there the academics, even at 11. He gets along with all of them and he's the only one in his grade who does.

Anyway, about 2 hours before he was schedulled to go out, he got a call from a class friend who asked him to go out trickertreating with him. Matthew had made his plans with the sports kids and the call was from a non-sports kid who had moved into the area about a year ago and idd not have a large base of friends to call on.

He was struggling with what to do and decided that he'd say yes and call the other guys and let them know the other kid would be joining them. There was some debate but they eventually agreed that no one should be left to trickertreat on their own on Halloween.

My son made sure the new kid felt included the entire night, waiting for him as the other kids ran to the next house. I could tell he was holding back, wanting to run with the others.

I know pride is a sin, but I was so happy to see the man he is growing into. How a child grows up is part nature and part nurture. He as a wonderful nature that we are trying to nurture.

I'm not sure if this will qualify for the card, but as far as I'm concerned, I've already won.

I was driving my FX4 F150 down the road and saw a van with a old man and his daughter stuck. I pulled over and turned on my flashers and pulled them out, accepting no payment when asked. He was very grateful and this is something I'd have done without this thread being here.

A few years ago I slid sideways while in my Sentra and a guy at 5 am went and got his brother in law who pulled me out. When I tried to pay them for their trouble they refused and only said "I may need you to help me out someday"

Three days ago, I was at school and I saw a transfer student from China and he didn't speak English very well. Anyway, I do speak Chinese, and I introduced myself to him, and now I've been helping him get situated here, and he fits in pretty well now with my little clique of friends who speak Chinese. And yes, I'm in high school

It's almost the 6th anniversary of when I totaled my car on the windy "mountain" (hills/forest) road I live on. Had to crawl out the window and walk half a mile before I got cell service. Inside of a restaurant at a golf course. I remember standing there shaking and crying and limping trying to make the phone call and the hostess didn't even say anything to me..... Anyways! Within 20 minutes there were 3 stopped civillians, 2 police cars, and a fire truck. They were searching the bushes because they thought I was thrown from the car!!

I didn't get to talk to any of the people but one of the cars was an NSX! It was nice to know people cared enough to stop.

In 2008 on my way to my sisters wedding my dad and I saw another subey that had fallen into a ditch so we stopped to help. Guy had fallen asleep at the wheel and luckily drifted right and into a ditch against a hill. The other side was a 50+ drop. Two other cars stopped, one with two doctors in it! And we all almost got killed by some idiot in a pickup that came racing around a corner. It was funny because the people who had crashed owned a BnB (wedding party reserved a diff one) that my sister had stayed at so they got some free nights.
